POVERTY STRICKEN AREAS, WAR AFFECTED ZONES AND REFUGEES; MANAGING INCONTINENCE PROBLEMS OF THE SICK AND DYING

POVERTY STRICKEN AREAS, WAR AFFECTED ZONES AND REFUGEES STRUGGLE WITH A BASIC LIFE NEED;  HOW TO MANAGE INCONTINENCE PROBLEMS FOR THE SICK AND DYING.

The shop or dispensary which makes daily life needs so possible and affordable are not freely available to those most in need.
Cancer sufferers, terminal family members, elderly and ill may struggle with incontinence.
There is a solution; homemade cloth pads.
These handy aids can be made within twenty minutes, are fully reusable and washable.
Even if there is little available water, a very small amount can wash these necessities.
Homemade cloth pads can be attached to under wear with snaps or Velcro.

There are benefits to the cloth pads;
  • They are made with no chemicals
  • Cloth pads remove the risk of TSS [Toxic Shock Syndrome] since no chemicals are being introduced into the body
  • Fabric is breathable, so using cloth reduces the risk of rashes
HOW TO MAKE CLOTH PADS
You will need;
  • A sewing machine
  • Or you can sew by hand with needle and thread
  • Flannel [not very much, at least a quarter yard in 2 colors will make a couple pads]
  • Thread
  • Measuring tape
  • Scissors
  • Cloth pad liner pattern
Points to remember;
  • The cheaper flannel that you buy, the shorter the life of the pad
  • Ensure that your pad is 100% cotton
  • Make sure to wash the fabric first to avoid shrinkage in the final product
  • To care for your cloth pads, make sure to wash them right away after use
  • Do not use scented laundry detergent on pads as this may cause skin irritation
WHY NOT MAKE AND SEND THESE VITAL NEEDS TO THOSE MOST IN NEED?
IN THE FIELD, THE UNMET NEED OF THIS MOST BASIC OF NECESSITIES FOR DIGNITY IS CAUSING MUCH SUFFERING.

IRELAND; HIGH COURT RULES AN UNBORN BABY HAS RIGHT TO LIFE, ALLEGED NEWS

With thanks to the Church Artist

IRELAND; A HIGH COURT JUDGE HAS RULED THAT THE WORD 'UNBORN' IN THE IRISH CONSTITUTION MEANS AN 'UNBORN CHILD' WITH RIGHTS BEYOND THE RIGHT TO LIFE WHICH 'MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY' BY THE STATE; ALLEGED NEWS. [1]

Significant Rights
Mr Justice Richard Humphreys said that the unborn child, including the unborn child of a parent facing deportation, enjoys 'significant' rights and legal position at common law, by statute, and under the Constitution, 'going well beyond the right to life alone'; Alleged News. [1]

Rights Effective
Mr Justice Humphreys also stated that many of those rights were 'actually effective' rather than merely prospective; Alleged News. [1]

Significant Ruling
Niamh Ui Bhriain of the Life Institute stated that this was a significant ruling which confirmed that the unborn baby was deserving of all the rights and protections to which every other person is entitled; Alleged News.

Eight Amendment
The Eighth Amendment of the Constitution of Ireland introduced a constitutional ban on abortion by recognizing the right to life of the unborn child.
It was effected by the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution Act, 1983, which was approved by referendum on 7 September 1983 and signed into law on the 7th October of that year; Alleged News. [2]

Women in the Early Church; Epistolary Evidence
By the time Saint Paul began his missionary travels, women formed an important part of early congregations.
Historical evidence within the Letters of St Paul point to the vital role played by women within the Early Church.
Paul specifically mentions Prisca, who, together with her husband Aquila, were missionary partners with Paul.
Tryphena and Tryphosa, 'women who work hard in the Lord', and Persis are greeted by Paul in Romans 16;12.
Rufus' mother is given special mention in Romans 16;13.
Julia and Nereus' sister are greeted in Romans 16;15.

Paul commended to their hospitality Phoebe, a leader from the church at Cenchreae, a port city near Corinth.
  Paul attaches to her three titles;
  • diakonos meaning 'a deacon' [literally, a servant]
  • sister
  • prostatis meaning 'a woman in a supportive role, patron, benefactor'
There is no difference when the title of deacon is used for Phoebe and Timothy.
The Greek word 'diakonos' is grammatically a masculine word, the same word Paul used for his own ministry. [2]

Women following Christ
Women were among the last disciples at the cross, and the first at the empty tomb.
They played an enormous role in the Early Church.
A number of women served as leaders of the house churches that sprang up in the cities of the Roman Empire - the list includes Priscilla, Chloe, Lydia, Nympha, Apphia, the mother of John Mark.

Apostolic Fathers and Ignatius
The apostolic fathers mention women as stalwarts of the faith.
Twice Ignatius sent greetings to Alce, whom he called especially dear to him.

Roman Governor Pliny the Younger
About 112 AD the Roman Governor Pliny the Younger found it necessary to interrogate the leaders of the developing church in Bithynia, two slave women called ministrae, or deacons.
These women apparently followed in the tradition of Phoebe. [3]

Women as Deacons
As Clement of Alexandria made mention of Paul's reference to deaconesses in 1 Timothy 3;11, so Origen commented on Phoebe, the deacon Paul mentioned in Romans 16;1-2.
'This text teaches with the authority of the Apostle that even women are instituted deacons in the Church.
This is the function which was exercised in the Church of Cenchreae by Phoebe, who was the object of high praise and recommendation by Paul . . . and thus this text teaches at the same time two things; that there are, as we have already said, women deacons in the Church; and that women, who by their good works deserve to be praised by the Apostle, ought to be accepted in the diaconate.' [3]

Other women deacons whose names are documented include;

There are many more deaconesses attested to with historical accuracy in Gaul, Dalmatia, Italy, Palestine, Egypt, Armenia and Syria. For the purposes of the brevity of this blog post, the above named will suffice.

John Chrysostom and Gregory of Nyssa
Examples of early documentation attesting to the historical veracity of the deaconesses include;
John Chrysostom, Letters; Letter 191: 'To Amproukla, deacon'
Gregory of Nyssa wrote the following in his work, 'Life of Saint Macrina' no 62; 'Now there was a lady called Lampadia, leader of a band of sisters, a deaconess in rank.' [4]

Early Church Councils
Documentary evidence is extant, attesting to the accepted role of deaconesses within the Early Church.
The Council of Chalcedon was held in 451 AD. Canon 15 of this Council stipulated 'A woman shall not receive the laying on of hands as a deaconess under forty years of age, and then only after searching examination.' [5]

Testament of the Catacombs
The walls of the Roman Catacombs bear pictures showing women in authoritative stances, with their hands raised in the posture of a bishop.
They are depicted standing in prayer, exercising a ministry of intercession and benediction. [3]

Ministry of Women in the Church
What do women bring to Church Ministry?
  • Jesus told us that indeed, the harvest of people for eternity is plentiful, but the workers in the field of the ministry of the Lord are few. He directed us to ask the Lord of the Harvest to send workers into the field. Women bring dedicated labor into the fields of the LORD [Luke 10;2] [6]
  • Women bring faith. Women work, tend children, teach the gospel to infants, families and community. They bear testimony to Jesus Christ the Son of God through their witness, prayer and worship
  • Women bring life experience and discernment to the community
  • Women bring maturity and wisdom. Knowledge of life, together with ongoing prayer and worship, deepens experiential knowledge of the LORD and deepens witness in the service of God
  • Women bring knowledge and education in the areas of Theology, Philosophy, Sacramental Theology, Moral Theology, Systematic Theology, Biblical Theology, Preaching, Worship, Canon Law, Church History, Christian Ethics, Bioethics, Pastoral Care, Counseling, Spiritual Direction, Chaplaincy in all fields, Christian Leadership and Management, Qualitative and Quantitative pastoral skills, Integration of Theology and Ministry in praxis, Christian Education from infancy to doctoral level, Ecumenical studies, Church History,  Exegesis advanced level, Music Ministry, Various pastoral ministries

INNOCENT CHICKS GROUND TO DEATH FOR BEING MALE AND HUMAN CAMPYLOBACTERIOSIS; ALLEGED NEWS. WHY NOT SIGN THE PETITION? WARNING; VIDEO NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN

As God Created

INNOCENT CHICKS ARE THRUST ALIVE THROUGH A GRINDER - BECAUSE THEY ARE MALE; ALLEGED NEWS.
Helpless wriggling chicks are debeaked, thrown from side to side as they are checked; Alleged News.
Other chicks helplessly lie and die; Alleged News.

Lumiere Charity has received reports of the treatment of chicks.
In my youth, I grew up near farms and used to spend weekends with my friends, helping them to gather eggs.
Free range chickens [why would you want to cage them?] ran up to us when we came to collect eggs.
We knew them by name, and Tillie took a special shine to me. She used to follow me around everywhere when I came to visit the smallholding.

We used to wait outside until the hens finished laying [we considered they needed the privacy].
Then we kids used to go in and gently remove the eggs, place them in a bucket and bring them to my friends' parents.
My friends used sufficient eggs for their dietary needs, and sold the rest at the local market.
The rest were left for the moms to brood on, and hatch sweet little baby chicks which we children doted on.
The farmers did not make a huge profit, but they certainly made ends meet; and we kids loved visiting the small farm.

Cossetted in the Kitchen
When chicks were hatched, we were absolutely thrilled. Sometimes if there was an ailing chick, my friend's mom used to keep the little one in her kitchen in a box.
She would nurse it, hand feeding and rearing the tiny mite. They usually survived.
We used to coo to the chicks, loving their downy yellow feathers and their innocent little faces.
Their sweetness and helplessness charmed us, making us eager to help them if they were ill.
We were often shooed out of the kitchen, as it was considered the little sick chicks needed peace and quiet, snuggled in their cosily fitted boxes - in order to thrive.

Egg Industries
Baby Chickens are being ground to death in egg hatcheries; Alleged News.
 Graphic footage shows this occurrence.
Warning; this video is not suitable for children.

Male chicks are reportedly considered useless as they cannot lay eggs.

21 Facts as Apprised by PETA
1. It takes approximately 34 hours for a hen to produce an egg
2. In order to keep up with the demand, more than 300 million hens are used by the US egg industry every year, Alleged News
3. Hens' lives enter a two year cycle of suffering, from the time they are born
4. Chicks are born in large incubators
5. They will never see their mothers
6. Shortly after birth, the males and females are separated
7. The females head to a life in the egg industry - roughly handled, Alleged News
8. The males are either tossed into trash bags to suffocate, Alleged News
9. Or the males are ground up alive, Alleged News. [Warning; footage not suitable for children]
10. The female chicks have their beaks cut off with a hot blade
11. 5 to 11 hens are crammed into tiny wire 'battery' cages
12. The cages are often stacked one on top of one another
13. This allows urine and faeces to fall down onto birds in the lower cages
14. Because of the terrible living conditions, chickens often die in their cages
15. They are sometimes left to rot in the same space as living birds
16. After two years, those who have survived are sent to the slaughter
17. At the slaughterhouse, laying hens meet the same bloody end as that of chickens raised for their meat
18. They are shackled and hanged upside down
19. They are electrocuted
20. Their throats are cut
21. And they are often scalded to death; Alleged News.
See Peta footage re the above 21 points. Warning; viewing not suitable for children.

Chickens contaminated with campylobacter
Nearly three-quarters of fresh chickens in supermarkets and butchers are contaminated with the potentially lethal food-poisoning bug campylobacter, according to the final results of a year-long testing programme published by the Food Standards Agency, Alleged News. [1]

The cumulative results for samples taken between February 2014 and February 2015 showed that 73% of poultry is contaminated with the bacteria, and 19% of the chickens are heavily contaminated; Alleged News .[1]

Campylobacteriosis
Campylobacteriosis is an infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus Campylobacter.
  Most people who become ill by Campylobacter show the following symptoms;

  • diarrhoea
  • cramping
  • abdominal pain
  • fever
within two to five days after exposure to the organism.
The diarrhoea can be bloody, and may be accompanied by nausea and vomitting.
The illness usually lasts one week.
If a person with a compromised immune system contracts campylobacteriosis, the Campylobacter occasionally spreads to the bloodstream and cause serious, life-threatening infection. [2]

Leading zoonotic disease
Human Campylobacteriosis is the leading zoonotic disease in Europe and in the US.
In the EU, 214 779 confirmed cases were reported in 2013; Alleged News .
The EU case-fatality rate lay at 0.05%; Alleged News.
56 deaths due to Campylobacteriosis were reported in 2013, with the United Kingdom accounting for 33 of these; Alleged News. [3]

Campylobacter infections are acknowledged to be under-reported; true numbers of clinical campylobacteriosis are estimated to lie between 2 and 20 million per year; Alleged News.
In the US more than 2.4 million cases are reported annually with several hundred fatalities; Alleged News. [3]

Globally, campylobacter infections cause about 400 million cases of diarrhoea annually; Alleged News.
The costs of campylobacteriosis to public health systems and to lost productivity, is estimated to be around EUR 2.4 billion a year in the EU and around USD 18 bn in the USA, Alleged News. [3]

Campylobacter Infection Complications
About 1% of documented Campylobacter cases are associated with severe complications such as arthropathies, abortion [miscarriage] and neuropathological symptoms [Guillain Barre Syndrome, a form of paralysis], Alleged News. [3]

Further complications can include septicaemia, Alleged News. [4]
Septicaemia is an infection of the blood, also known as bacteremia or blood poisoning.
Other infections are meningitis, inflammation of the gall bladder [cholecystitis], and appendicitis; Alleged News. [4]

Guillain Barre Syndrome
A sizeable percentage of those who suffer Campylobacter infections develop Guillain Barre Syndrome, which causes neuromuscular paralysis; Alleged News.
Over time, the paralysis is to some extent typically reversible; however, approximately 20% of the patients with GBS are left disabled, and approximately 5% die; Alleged News. [4]

Miller Fisher Syndrome
Guillain Barre Syndrome [GBS] occurs when an infected person's immune system makes antibodies against components of Campylobacter, and these very antibodies attack components of the body's nerve cells because they are chemically similar to bacterial components; Alleged News.

Miller Fisher Syndrome is another, related neurological syndrome that can follow Campylobacteriosis; Alleged News.
Miller Fisher Syndrome is also caused by a triggered immune response, Alleged News. [4]

Reiter's Syndrome
Another chronic condition that may be associated with Campylobacter infection is a condition formerly known as Reiter's Syndrome; a form of reactive arthritis, Alleged News
Multiple joints can be affected, particularly the knee joint. Pain and incapacitation can last for months, or become chronic; Alleged News.

  Reactive arthritis is a complication strongly associated with a particular genetic make-up;
id est, people who have the human lymphocyte antigen B27 (HLA-B27) are the most susceptible; Alleged News. [4]

What causes Campylobacter?
Contaminated poultry meat is considered to be a major source of infection for humans, which may be partly due to the high bacterial load among live birds and the automation of the slaughter process; Alleged News. [3]
The intestinal tract of chicken, especially the cecum and colon, can harbor Campylobacter bacteria; Alleged News.

During processing, the intestinal tract may leak or rupture, and the contents be transferred to the skin of the carcass; Alleged News.
Campylobacter spreads quickly through a broiler flock within a matter of days; Alleged News. [3]

Coprophagy [the eating of faeces or dung], and chicken-to-chicken transmission via the fecal-oral route [faeces or dung to eating through beak] increases the dissemination of the bacteria [or its rapid spread]; Alleged News. [3]
