IRELAND; THE SANCTITY OF LIFE CONTINUES TO BE UPHELD AS THE PEOPLE MAKE THEIR VOICE HEARD AT THE CITIZENS' ASSEMBLY

LET US SAVE OUR CHILDREN - NOT ABORT THEM

IRELAND; THE SANCTITY OF LIFE CONTINUES TO BE UPHELD AS THE PEOPLE OF THE LAND OF SAINT PATRICK MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD AT THE CITIZENS' ASSEMBLY.
A Citizens Assembly was recently called in Ireland and has already begun to meet in Dublin; Alleged News. [1]
The first issue the Assembly has been asked to consider is that of a referendum to repeal the right to life of the unborn child, currently protected under the 8th amendment of the Constitution; Alleged News. [1]

Submissions from Public Welcomed
It was recently announced by the Assembly that it would be welcoming submissions from members of the public on the topic of the 8th amendment so that their views could be taken into account by the Assembly; Alleged News. [1]

The Voice of Ireland is raised
All over Ireland, the word on the street is that the sanctity of life of the unborn child in this land must continue to be protected.
Submissions are being sent by many to the Assembly, calling for protection of that most vulnerable of beings; the unborn child in the womb.

The 8th Amendment
The 8th Amendment is a piece of legislation that ensures the protection of the most basic human rights.
Science has proven to us that preborn babies are human beings and deserving of the protection of society.
At 21 days gestation, our hearts are already beating.
EVERY ABORTION ENDS A HUMAN LIFE! [1]

The 8th Amendment further protects the lives of pregnant women and allows the Doctors of Ireland to provide all necessary life-saving care to women experiencing medical emergencies during pregnancy. [1]

On June 4th 2016, Melissa Ohden - courageous survivor of an horrendous failed abortion - addressed cheering crowds in Dublin and declared;
"If Ireland doesn't stay protective of unborn life, who will?" [2]

WHY NOT MAKE YOUR VOICE
HEARD AT THE ASSEMBLY?
WHEN? All submissions on this issue must be received by the Assembly no later than 16 December 2016.

HOW? Submit a letter to the Assembly calling for protection of this life-saving law. For full information and guidance with this, click in the following link;

FRANCE; NEW LAW BANS PRO-LIFE WEB SITES; ALLEGED NEWS

LIBERTE, EGALITE, FRATERNITE; THE NATIONAL MOTTO OF FRANCE RINGS OUT - 'LIBERTY, EQUALITY, FRATERNITY.' [1]
The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen - Declaration des droits de l'homme et du citoyen - was passed by France's National Constituent Assembly in August 1789.[2]

Enshrined within the Declaration
is Article 11;
'The free communication of ideas
and opinions is one of the most
precious rights of man.' [3]

Pro-life websites banned
Lawmakers in France have voted to ban supposedly 'misleading' pro-life web sites; Alleged News.
The French National Assembly passed a bill to outlaw websites supposedly spreading misinformation about abortion; Alleged News.

The new law, reportedly still to pass the Senate, extends an existing protection against physical intimidation over abortion to digital media and would extend the scope of a 1993 law, which criminalizes 'false information' related abortions, to digital media: Alleged News.  [4]

Bruno Retailleau

Bruno Retailleau, who heads the Republicans party group in the Senate, says the bill 'is totally against freedom of expression'; Alleged News.
He spoke on radio, and claimed the bill went against the 'spirit' of the 1975 law legalizing abortion, which called for women to be informed of alternatives; Alleged News. [4]

Marion Marechal-Le Pen

Marion Marechal-Le Pen, French politician, has criticized the law, according to Brietbart report, calling it an 'aberration' and a frontal attack on 'freedom of expression'; Alleged News. [4]

Prison and 30,000 euros fine

Providing 'false' information on abortion online would be punishable by up to two years in prison and a 30,000 euro fine; Alleged News. [4]

Archbishop Georges Pontier of Marseille

The President of the French Bishops' Conference has written to President Francois Hollande to express his concerns about the fast-tracked legislation that would extend illegal interference on abortions to websites; Alleged News. [5]

Archbishop Georges Pontier of Marseille said the Bishops think the legislation questions the very foundations of liberties in France, and he urged Hollande to not allow the bill's passage; Alleged News. [5]

LINK BETWEEN ABORTION AND SUICIDE; ALLEGED NEWS

STUDIES SHOW THE RISK OF SUICIDE IS ELEVATED IN WOMEN AFTER ABORTION; ALLEGED NEWS. [1]

Finland
Researchers in Finland interviewed 600,000 women for a study that showed that women who became pregnant and had abortions were six times more likely to commit suicide than women who carried their babies to term; Alleged News. [1]

Women who aborted were three times more likely to commit suicide than those who had not been pregnant; Alleged News. [1]
The statistics thus showed that rather than increasing a woman's chances of suicide, carrying her unborn baby to term actually decreases them; Alleged News. [1]
The study was based on both interviews and medical records; Alleged News. [1]

European Journal of Health
A related study in the European Journal of Health showed similar results; Alleged News.
The study tracked 463,473 women who became pregnant between 1980 and 2004, and recorded their mortality rates after either giving birth, or undergoing abortions; Alleged News. [1]

The study found that women who had abortions were more likely to die within 10 years after their abortions, than women who carried their babies to term; Alleged News. [1]
Suicide was a common cause of death for the women who had undergone abortions, Alleged News. [1]

The British Medical Journal
A study in The British Medical Journal discovered that the rate of suicide in women after birth was 5.9 out of 100,000; Alleged News.
Among women who had abortions, the rate was 34.7; Alleged News.
The suicide rate for women who had not been pregnant was 11.3; Alleged News.
As in the other study, carrying a baby to term was seen to reduce the suicide rate; Alleged News. [1]

Study by David C Reardon
A study  by David C Reardon of the Elliot Institute, studied 173,000 American women who became pregnant; and then either had abortions, or carried their baby to term; Alleged News. [1]

The survey followed the women for eight years after the pregnancy ended; Alleged News.
Reardon found that the women who aborted were 154% more likely to commit suicide than the women who gave birth; Alleged News.

David Reardon cited another survey in his book 'Aborted Women, Silent No More'  which discovered that up to 60% of women who had abortions had subsequent suicidal feelings with 28% attempting suicide; Alleged News. [1]

One study reportedly found that teenage girls who had one or more abortions were 10 times more likely to commit suicide than those who had never aborted; Alleged News. [1]

Another study showed that the rate of psychiatric hospitalization for teenagers who had abortions is three times higher than that of other teens, Alleged News. [1]

Abortion links to Breast Cancer, Prematurity and suicide
It is essential for every woman to have full knowledge of decisions affecting her health and wellbeing.
When considering a termination, it is important to know that not only is there a proven link between abortion and breast cancer, but that abortion can affect her subsequent pregnancies with prematurity difficulties; Alleged News. [2]

LINK BETWEEN ABORTION AND RISK OF PREMATURE BIRTH; ALLEGED NEWS

EVERY YEAR, AN ESTIMATED FIFTEEN MILLION CHILDREN WORLDWIDE ARE BORN PREMATURELY; ALLEGED NEWS. [1]
Complications from preterm birth, before thirty-seven weeks gestation, are the leading cause of death in children under five years of age; Alleged News. [1]

One million infant deaths
In 2013, an estimated one million children died due to premature birth; Alleged News. [1]

In 1970, the preterm birthrate in the US was 6.6%. In 2006, it rose to 12.6%. Currently, the US has approximately 517,000 premature births annually, and the numbers continue to rise; Alleged News. [1]

In the last twenty years, there are only three nations where the rate of premature births has not risen; Alleged News. [1]

Link between abortion and premature birth
Increasing body of research has found a link between abortion and premature birth; Alleged News. [1]
In research, a 'link' is properly termed a 'positive association' or 'increased risk' or 'risk factor'.
It does not define a cause and effect relationship between the risk factor and the condition.
It is important to know that having a risk factor does not mean you will definitely come down with a particular condition, just that you are at an increased risk of developing it. [1]

Documentary film Hush
In Director Punam Kumar Gill's new documentary film Hush, she interviewed women who had multiple abortions, and later suffered from complications in their subsequent pregnancies: Alleged News. [1]
One lady she interviewed lost ten children due to cervical incompetence; Alleged News.
"My amniotic sacs would leak through, it would hourglass, and then pop and my babies would be born preterm," she said; Alleged News. [1]

Subjective research to objective research
Director Gill turned her investigation from the subjective experiences of the women she interviewed, to the objective research being carried out on risk factors for preterm birth; Alleged News. [1]

During pregnancy, the cervix is designed to stay tightly closed. This is in order to protect the developing baby inside the uterus [womb].
Abortion providers perform a surgical abortion. This is done by introducing instruments into the body of the woman, which force the cervix open.
This action can weaken, or tear, the cervical muscles.
Thereafter some women in subsequent pregnancies may experience 'cervical incompetence' and be unable to carry their baby to term.

Dr John Thorp
Director Gill interviewed Dr John Thorp in order to find out his expert opinion on the link between abortion and premature birth.
Dr. Thorp is the North American Editor of the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the interim Director of the University of North Caolina Center for Women's Health Research; Alleged News.
Doctor Thorp has spent his career researching the risk factors of premature birth, Alleged News. [1]

Dr Thorp told Director Gill, 'A prior termination [of pregnancy] puts somebody at about one and a half to two times the risk of prematurity in a subsequent pregnancy. Not only does it increase the risk of a preterm birth, it even more so increases the risk of these very tiny babies being born early, where all the death, disability, and expense arises', Alleged News. [1]

This means that an abortion increases a woman's risk of her next pregnancy being premature.
Her risk of this increases by about one and a half to two times.
The risk to the premature babies is also increased. Factors which can arise are death of the baby, disability of the baby, expenses. [1]

Meta-analysis
In 2009, a meta-analysis [study of the available research] was published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Thirty seven studies were examined. The meta-analysis found that there was a 36% increased risk of preterm birth after one abortion and a 93% increased risk after two or more abortions; Alleged News. [1]

In 2013, a study on the link between abortion and premature birth was published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology Canada; Alleged News. [1]
This study found that extreme preterm births of twenty-four weeks or less, were most impacted by abortion; Alleged News. [1]
Extreme premature babies are the most likely to die, and the most expensive to medically care for.
Such preterm births were more than twice as likely for women who had one abortion; Alleged News. [1]

Dr Martin McCaffrey
Dr McCaffrey is a specialist in neonatal medicine in North Carolina; Alleged News.
Doctor expressed his frustration that despite more than eighty studies showing an association between abortion and premature birth, few women know about the risks when facing their pregnancy decision.

Premature Births
It is essential for every woman to have full knowledge of decisions affecting her health and wellbeing.
When considering termination, it is important to know that not only is there a proven link between abortion and breast cancer, [2] but that abortion can affect her subsequent pregnancies with prematurity difficulties.

LINK BETWEEN ABORTION AND BREAST CANCER; ALLEGED NEWS

BREAST CANCER IS AN HORRENDOUS AFFLICTION.  Many of us have witnessed the long struggle those diagnosed with breast cancer go through.

Link between abortion and breast cancer
Director Punam Kumar Gill's new documentary film Hush asked the question: 'Is there a link between abortion and breast cancer?' Alleged News.

Currently there are more than 108 world-wide studies published on abortion and breast cancer; Alleged News.
Fifty-three of them found a strong link between abortion and breast cancer; Alleged News.
Twenty-three studies found a small link; Alleged News. [1]

Out of the 108 studies, 79 [nearly 3 in 4] found an increased risk between induced abortion and the later development of breast cancer; Alleged News.
When Director Gill delved deeper, she discovered that studies from all over the world demonstrated a higher rate of breast cancer among women who have had abortions:

  • 10 out of 10 studies conducted in India
  • 30 out of 37 studies conducted in China
  • 5 out of 6 studies in France
  • 4 out of 4 in Japan
Dr Joel Brind, Professor of Human Biology and Endocrinology, performed a meta-analysis of twenty-three available studies in 1996; Alleged News.
He found that there was a 30% increased risk of breast cancer for women with abortion histories; Alleged News.
Dr Brind explained to Director Gill how his meta-analysis was peer-reviewed and conducted in partnership with pro-choice scientists; Alleged News. [1]

Meta-analysis conclusions
In 2014, a meta-analysis published in the international journal Cancer Causes and Control by Yubei Huang et al. of the Tianjin Medical University provided similar results; Alleged News. [1]
Huang examined 36 studies in China and found a 44% average increased risk of breast cancer among women with abortion histories; Alleged News. [1]
This risk increased to 76% for those with two abortions and 79% for three abortions; Alleged News. [1]

Huang et al.'s Paper - brief overview
On page one of the Paper, the Abstract Objective reads:
"To evaluate the association between induced abortion [IA] and breast cancer risk among Chinese females." [2]

Huang's Introduction on Page 2 explains that "Chinese females historically had a lower risk of breast cancer compared to their counterparts in USA and other Western countries.
However, the incidence of breast cancer in China had increased at an alarming rate over the past two decades (from 36.17/100.000 to 51.24/100.000 in urban areas and from 10.39/100.000 to 19.61/100.000 in rural areas). The marked change in breast cancer incidence was parallelled to the one-child-per-family policy, which became legal in China since the early 1980's.
Averagely 8.2 million medical terminations of pregnancy were reported yearly (14.4 million in 1983 and 6.4 million in 2010). It is estimated that one in four Chinese females have at least one induced abortion (IA) during their reproductive lives, and approximately 40 pregnancies are aborted for every 100 living births. Experimental data suggested that there was a plausible association between IA and breast cancer. During the first trimester of pregnancy, hormonal changes propel newly produced breast cells through a state of differentiation, a natural maturing process which greatly reduces the risk of breast cancer in the future. An interruption of this process by abortion will arrest this process before differentiation occurs, greatly raising the future risk of breast cancer in the future." [2]

The paper gives the Methods, Eligibility Criteria and Data sources and searching strategy (see Page 2).
Study selection and data extraction appear on Page 3.
Data analysis is found on Page 4.
Results, Study selection, Syntheses of results  are documented (see Page 5).
Discussion begins on Page 6.

Conclusion
The Conclusion on Page 8 reads:
"In summary, the most important implication of this study is that IA was significantly associated with an increased risk of breast cancer among Chinese females, and the risk of breast cancer increases as the number of IA increases. If IA were to be confirmed as a risk factor for breast cancer, high rates of IA in China may contribute to increasing breast cancer rates."
 [2]
This means, in essence, that the study concludes that induced abortion [IA] was significantly linked to an increased risk of breast cancer. Further, the risk of breast cancer rises with further abortions [IA].

How abortion increases breast cancer risk
Dr Pierre Band, a pioneer in the Oncology field, explained to Director Gill why abortion and breast cancer may be linked (see [1]).

When a woman reaches late-term pregnancy, after 32 weeks, many of her breast cells have matured fully to begin producing milk.
Once a breast cell matures, it has 'switched off'. This means it can no longer multiply, thus making it less susceptible to carcinogens [cancer forming factors].
Mature and milk producing breast cells are less susceptible to becoming cancerous.

Late-term pregnancy turns off cellular multiplication.
Abortion, however, terminates [or stops] the pregnancy before the woman's breast cells switch off.
Her vulnerable body is left full of estrogen and progesterone, and her breast cells are left in a vulnerable state of increased risk of becoming cancerous.[1]

However, a miscarriage in the first three months, [otherwise known as a spontaneous abortion] does not increase a woman's risk of developing breast cancer. [1]
This is because her hormone levels never reach that of a normally developing pregnancy. [1]

Recognized by medical community
Director Gill discovered that the science of breast maturation and its possible connection to cancer is recognized by the medical community, Alleged News. [1]

World Health Organization
The World Health Organization has recognized the risks of increased estrogen. It listed the Combined Oral Contraceptive Pill, 'The Pill', as a group 1 carcinogen, along with other forms of estrogen and progesterone therapy.
Carcinogen means 'a substance capable of causing cancer in living tissue.' [1]
